I have been an Elvis fan for over 10 years and was so excited to visit Graveland!! We arrived in Memphis, stayed the night and then headed to Graceland!
New Orleans is amazing!! The people are so friendly and polite. Such a great vibe!! We walked around the garden district and looked through Lafayette Cemetry.
What an absolutely amazing place!! This was our first stop on our American trip! Our first day we hired bikes and ride over the Golden Gate Bridge! We ate our very first In and Out burgers too!!
I love the artist Deb and found some very cool work of hers!
I also went to an amazing bakery that you must go to if in SF! Mr Holmes Bakehouse
Melbourne is a wonderful place! I’ve just spent the last 12 days there. Among other things I loved exploring and looking at all the amazing street art!!
This grasshopper was found in Fitzroy and is by Buzzard.
Tokyo is crazy!! So much to do, we wanted to fit as much in as possible. After a quick rest at our hotel room and a drink we headed out to check out the night life! We walked through two small lanes that had a huge amount of tiny bars, that were just a bar and some stools!
We had dinner at a restaurant which consisted of tempura, the most amazing braised pork I’ve ever had and sashimi!
We then headed to a shop, bought a wig and went to do some karaoke Lost in Translation style!! It was so fun that we couldn’t leave!! 2am and we eventually left! Wow!!
The next day we awoke and caught the train into Ginza to visit Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower.
Eating delicious ramen and looking at cool Japanese men is the best!!
More to come in the next few days about video games and fashion!
After spending our first few days in heavenly Hakone it was time to head to fast pace, big city Tokyo! We said goodbye to our beautiful hotel and caught a railway car, bullet train and normal train to the busiest train station in the world, Shinjuku. We checked into our hotel, stopped to snack on the very popular octopus balls and then headed out into the night!
We are both huge fans of Lost In Translation, so heading to the Park Hyatt Hotel Tokyo where a lot of the movie was filmed, was high up on our list to go! I actually sat at the bar where Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray shared a drink!!
We then proceeded to stroll through Shinjuku. Eat some delicious ramen (that you ordered on a vending machine), look through cheap liquor stores, play video games and skill testers.
The next day we headed for Shibuya to look at guitars and shop! We had some amazing gyoza for lunch and walked around cool Shibuya. We visited a record store that had four levels, with different genres on each level. We bought LOTS of records! I got heaps of Otis Redding!! We also went to a department store called Loft, there were so many levels with different quirky things! I got some brooches, Polaroid photo albums, sushi erasers, cute lunch boxes, popcorn, iPhone “jellyfish” case and lots of cute fridge magnets!
We walked through the scramble intersection in Shibuya which has been named to busiest intersection in the world! It was crazy busy! Wow!
Half the fun of walking around Tokyo is getting lost and stumbling upon crazy/cool stuff! In the next few days, read about our fun night out in Shinjuku and a visit to Tokyo Tower!
After chatting to a couple during drinks at our hotel we decided to head to Yunessun, which is like a huge water fun park but it’s based around outdoor hot spring spas!
We had so much fun!! Tattoos aren’t allowed, but being the accommodating people they are, we had to wear small dressing gowns and tape up other tattoos so you couldn’t see them haha! There were lots of different hot spring spas with themes. The first one was a coffee spa, with real coffee!! There was a demonstration taking place, he was speaking Japanese but when the teenage girls near him moved away giggling I realised he wanted a volunteer….
The next few hot springs were red wine, green tea, sake and a traditional style one. The green tea aroma was so strong and it was the hottest. I loved it!!
The park was so fun and they have the cutest little mascots!! If you are heading to Hakone you must go to Yunessun!!!
Tomorrow, read about us heading into Tokyo!!
